| Greetings from the Lorenzo Patiņo Council, League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), and the Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie and Halau Kahulaliwai! , So often we see people from different cultures coming together only to resolve problems. We are two non-profit organizations that have formed a partnership to hold a fund raising event, "In Celebration of Our Cultures", that will recognize and celebrate both the similarities and differences of our cultures , On Saturday, March 17, 2001 we hosted "In Celebration of Our Cultures" at Elks Lodge 6 in Sacramento, CA. It was an evening filled with authentic cuisine, cultural music, entertainment, vendors and raffle prizes. Our goal is to have 800 from the Sacramento Community in attendance including consulates from various countries and local governmental officials. Featured performances for the evening was Mexican indigenous indian (Azteca) dances by Maquilli Tonatiuh (Danza Azteca) and Hawaiian dances by the Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie and Halau Kahulaliwai! http://www.kawaikahe.com |
